Affinity Celebrates 5 Years

Affinity Celebrates 5 Years

Today Affinity celebrate 5 years in operation.

In February 2016,  Affinity and the MOD signed the Fixed Wing Training Package Contract in support of the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS). We had an ambitious goal of delivering all aircraft by November 2018, and with the dedication of our team we were successful in the delivery of 38 aircraft across our 3 UK sites. Towards the end of last year we saw a further 4 aircraft delivered into RAF Valley and by the end of this year we hope to have all operational.

We have grown our operations rapidly, starting with just 18 employees to now, a team of 150. We continue to provide significant local employment opportunities within Lincolnshire and North Wales and will be recruiting Apprentices in the near future. The development of our core team remains a high priority for us, with equal opportunity and career development fundamental to our core values.

Within UKMFTS Affinity supplies and contracts to Ascent to support 42 aircraft at RAFC Cranwell, RAF Barkston Heath Lincolnshire and RAF Valley North Wales, where we deliver: The Grob Prefect 120TP, The Embraer Phenom 100 and The Beechcraft Texan T-6C.

We recognise the importance of our local communities and have supported various local charities and organisations nominated by our own employees. We have also grown partnerships with educational establishments, providing work experience, employability sessions and training. Given the current circumstances in the UK, we are looking forward to restarting these important activities as soon as we can.

Iain Chalmers, Affinity Managing Director commented: “ I am immensely proud to have watched Affinity grow over the last 5 years, and seen the incredible commitment of my many colleagues to make it as success ”.

Thank you for your continued support, we look to the future of Affinity.
