2024 has been an inspiring year for Affinity.
We have continued to provide opportunities for individuals to develop their skills, boost their confidence, and shine a spotlight on the aviation industry. Through partnerships with incredible organisations such as the Air & Space Institute (ASI), The Air League, Jon Egging Trust’s Blue Skies Programme, the Career Transition Partnership, and the National Air and Space Camp, we’ve worked to inspire and empower people at all stages of their journeys.
From mentoring future aviation and aerospace talent to supporting individuals transitioning into new careers, these collaborations have enabled us to make a lasting impact across industries. Here’s how we’ve worked together to create opportunities and drive progress in 2024.
Jon Egging Trust (JET)
Through the Blue Skies Programme, we hosted sessions at RAF Cranwell and supported in-school workshops, helping students explore aviation careers and develop skills like teamwork and resilience. Students observed aircraft operations and gained real-world insights into aviation as well as learning about essential life skills.

Air & Space Institute (ASI)
Our partnership with ASI Newark included hosting workshops and tours at RAF Cranwell, where students engaged with industry experts and explored aviation careers. Sessions included CV-writing workshops and hands-on experiences to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals.
The Air League:
For the past three years, we’ve supported The Air League by offering hands-on work placements. This year, three Engineering Scholars gained practical experience across departments at RAF Cranwell, preparing them for successful careers in aviation.

Career Transition Partnership (CTP):
This year, we participated in the CTP event at the Lincolnshire Showground. These events are fantastic for service leavers to network with employers and explore civilian career paths. We showcased our role in the UK Military Flying Training System and had meaningful conversations with passionate individuals about their future opportunities in aviation and engineering.
National Air & Space Camp:
In 2024, we were one again proud to take part in the National Air & Space Camp at RAF Syerston, where we joined 56 organisations to engage with over 800 cadets. The Industry Day provided an excellent opportunity to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals, and we had great conversations about career opportunities in aviation and STEM.
We look forward to 2025, continuing to strengthen our partnerships and create opportunities for growth, innovation, and success across the aviation and STEM industries.
