Affinity recently attended the National Air and Space Camp Industry Day at RAF Syerston, joining organisations from across the aviation and aerospace sector to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals.
The annual National Air and Space Camp brings together Air Cadets from across the UK for a week of activities designed to showcase careers and opportunities within aviation, aerospace, engineering and STEM-related industries.
As part of the Industry Day, Affinity representatives met with cadets to discuss career pathways, the UK's Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS), and the broad range of roles that support flying training across the country. Throughout the event, cadets had the opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals, ask questions and gain a better understanding of the skills and experience needed to pursue a career in aviation.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to highlight the diverse careers available within the sector. While many young people are familiar with pilot careers, the day also showcased the many engineering, operational, technical and support roles that help keep the aviation industry moving.
Supporting initiatives such as the National Air and Space Camp forms part of Affinity's ongoing commitment to engaging with young people, promoting careers in aviation and helping to develop future talent within the sector.
Affinity would also like to thank the organisers, volunteers and participating organisations who helped deliver another successful National Air and Space Camp Industry Day. We look forward to continuing our support for initiatives that encourage young people to explore careers in aviation and aerospace, helping to inspire the next generation of pilots, engineers and aviation professionals. Opportunities such as these play an important role in showcasing the wide range of careers available within the industry and developing the future talent pipeline that will support the sector for years to come.
