Last week, RAF Syerston in Nottinghamshire hosted their National Air & Space Camp which gave Cadets from all around the Country, unique access to aviation and STEM based training, activities, and trips. As part of the weeklong camp, an Industry was held on Wednesday 23 August and Affinity were invited to be part of the session. We exhibited alongside 56 organisations including Tui, British Airways, Babcock, BAE systems, Thales, Inzpire, plus many more and were visited by over 800 cadets.
The Industry Day was a key part of the cadet experience as it provides cadets with a unique opportunity to engage directly with military and civil organisations, whilst also providing industry and other external stakeholders an equally unique opportunity to engage with RAF Air Cadets, many of whom are the pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers and aviation professionals of the future.
This was a great event, which led to many interesting conversations with up-and-coming aviation stars, who are keen to take the next step in their career. We were also lucky enough to see some of the fantastic air display which included action from the BBMF, Typhoon and Red Arrows.
Affinity is passionate in engaging with the local community, offering guidance, and sharing knowledge with the younger generation. We are now looking forward to arranging further tours and visits with local Cadet groups and educational establishments.
